Richard Martin

Richard Martin has for many years tried his hand on all sorts of jobs but he has always, at some point, been drawn back into the arena of metal. Whether it’s covered in rust or it’s shinny and new, Richard has learnt, over the years, that Metal Sculpture works for him and mostly he feels very comfortable around a material that is going to challenge him mentally and physically.

I get a lot of enjoyment making Flower pods and flowers out of metal. I’m always attempting to create a soft and flowing essence in my work as metal can be often be stubborn when cold and may need a little warming and cajoling at the best of times, so I get a lot of pleasure when my thoughts and ideas become actual objects of metal that have flow. Its these moments that keep me going and I think that I have the best love job in town
