These two brooches were stolen years ago from Handmark Gallery in Hobart ..I came across them again on my Website WWW.brucepringle.com .. Weird one with the ‘head’ is stained Hippo tusk (Found) and the other has a slice of the same ! Amazing Ivory to work with , no visible grain to speak of and a pristine white ! I picked it up a long time ago In St Lucia in Northern Natal , South Africa, while I was being devoured by Mozzies that were attracted to the sqashed Pawpaw that was in my pack when I sat on it ..
