What a FANTASTIC night!   Loads of people, awesome work from our very talented team, great food and wine, and perfect live music – we really know how to throw an exhibition!  Am a very happy camper!

Here are some pics of my pieces on the theme of ‘Stoned’.

Good having these regular exhibitions to work towards . With an ‘arts practice’ like mine that involves a fair bit of ‘product’ , working for the show is a holiday ! Also, there is excitment about among the Byron Hammer members and I can’t wait to see the posts on this site after the opening on the 26th .

…until 19 November to enable the Gallery to put on a really fab show.  There will be lots of gorgeous work from many local artists (including me!)

Just had a meeting today with Nadine at Art Piece Gallery in Mullumbimby and she is keen to include some of my pieces in her upcoming “Jewellery” exhibition!  Am very excited about it, hope you can pop in!

Our next exhibition in Byron Bay is penciled in for Friday 26th November 2010. It is always a great night, so put it in your diary and we will remind you again closer to the day .

To other news … Hammer and Hand has  spots available for a new members!(one each in Byron Bay and Hobart) This is for someone making their own ‘bench work’ jewellery (fabricated metal) at any level and offers a permanent display space (commission free), with the obligation of one 10am till 4pm day per week in the studio/gallery/workshop (Mondays Byron and Sundays Hobart) where there is a jewellery bench to work at, all this and so much more for a smallish monthly rent.
So if you know anybody who might be interested, get them to contact Bruce 0409960614 In Byron or Julianne 0407094402 in Hobart .

The ‘ Tasmanian Artist Blacksmiths Association’ Meeting at Ben Beames’s Forge in Napolian St , Battery Point , Hobart . + Some of the Hammer and Hand Hobart Crew at the ‘Hammer’ Meeting @ the Shop

A lovely artist friend of mine – Tiffany Calder-Kingston is having an exhibition of her paintings and will also be showing some of my jewellery and some gorgeous ceramics by Jules Hunt.  Opening night is Friday the 3rd – below is the invitation.
