Jumble of rectangles and squares
At last I have got around to putting my rectangles and squares on the Hammer website. Thoroughly enjoy working with ‘sort of’ straight sides and want to explore this shape a bit more. Still haven’t got on top of the wordpress editing though! Can’t seem to get my images to go where I want them to be. But looks a bit like a jumble of rectangles.

She Shell Earrings
Hand cut Kai and Paua shells, sterling silver links and hooks. 2013
All have sterling silver disc on back with Wi Hihanni mark.
Comes in 4 sizes: small, medium, tall and fan.
Kai shell as a whole from the back, cut into to make earrings and a pendant.
Like my Oto’san (Father) used to say “If your going to use it, use it all- not small parts of it…”

Lovin Spoonful in progress
Hello everybody,
Working hard to make double ended big and small spoon with stand that the spoon balances on.
The spoons and stand will be slightly different shapes and has a flow to it, very lovingly.
These pieces are still in progress and are not the finish product.
I think I have found a new love for forging!
With every hammer pound, the metal being shaped and seeing the metal colour changes, almost like landscaping.
Spoonful regards
Wi Hihanni

Northern Rivers Creative Pop-up Gallery
What a fun night opening night was – and such a buzz for the four of us from Hammer and Hand chosen to showcase the talent of jewellers in the Northern Rivers area. The gallery will run for 5 weeks and is open Wednesday – Sunday 9am-6pm. All four of us (Helen, Lucille, Laura and Jen) will work at the gallery for a week each – so we hope to see you there!
